A March trip

We haven't seen the daughter since Christmas so have drafted a trip to Melbourne and then on to Port Albert for a few days.  We went for the shorter version of our morning walk to ensure our bodies were functioning.  This gave us a nice sunrise.

In case we see any more War Memorials, here is part of one from Cann River.
We stopped at Bruthen for the usual pie and beer from Bull Ant brewery.  The street was full of AC Cobras: a club doing a 3 day run through the Alps.

The trees beside the road were not looking in great condition suggesting drier times have arrived.
The usual large herds of dairy cattle around Maffra.
On getting in towards the centre we came alone Batman Drive.  There was a huge queue of folk walking along towards the G, so I assumed there was an AFL match on, although they didn't look like a footy crowd.  Then I saw the tents etc in the Domain and realised this was something to do with Moomba.  Frances was fascinated by a tent marked "Baby Change".  Change for what: a better lookig baby? a puppy? a goldfish?

After unpacking the Mazda we headed off to meet the family at Lincoln Park, just up Bouverie St in Carlton.  The kite I found on Commonwealth Avenue was very popular.  It's just visible in the upper left of the image.
