Western Suburbs
We started the day with another walk towards Brighton. The main aim of my morning was to play croquet at the Hove lawns. Fortunately our host, Frances sister Maxine pointed out that they had changed venue from near the Council Chambers to a sports complex on the far side of Brighton Road. Apparently this happened about 30 years ago! Unfortunately the day was one where nothing went right for me, especially in my third game where both opponents were handicap 3 (I am officially handicap 11 but on this day played more like 25). I then went to a couple of spots a little Northwards. The first was the inflow to the Patawalonga where there were a few interesting birds. I then went to what used to be called the Torrens Outlet Canal as it is a canalised section through which the River Torrens flows out to the sea. That is nowhere near sexy enough for marketing goons so it is now called Breakout Creek. Whatever it is called it is now a building site. ...
